Rest In Peace Lilly Pulitzer

I was looking on Stylesight (blog.stylesight.com), and I saw a post that said "Rest In Peace Lilly P."  I was in shock when I found out that Lilly Pulitzer founder, designer, and socialite Lilly Pulitzer Rousseau died on April 7, 2013 at the age of 81.  If you are unfamiliar with Lilly Pulitzer, she was married to the grandson of Joseph Pulitzer, well known newspaper publisher,and creator of the Pulitzer Prize.  Once they were settled in Palm Beach, FL, she started making beach dresses that were known for its bright, colorful, floral prints.

She is also known for designing dresses for First Lady Jaqueline Kennedy, with whom she attended high school.  Here is a picture of Jackie O in a Lilly Pulitzer design.

Although I am sadden that she has passed away, she left great style and bright, colorful prints that no one can compete with.  She was not afraid of being bold and colorful!

Rest in Peace Lilly P.  We will miss you.
